This advanced training seminar will teach the interpretative techniques for the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Test Battery. Core HRB interpretation methodologies and concepts will be reviewed and illustrated. Advanced methodologies will be introduced. Systematic integration of the various techniques will be illustrated for clinical case interpretation. The goal of the seminar is to improve attendees’ ability to interpret HRB test results as related to brain-behavior relationships.
This seminar will emphasize the integrative use of HRB interpretation techniques and concepts for comprehensive interpretation of clinical cases. This is a methodology and technique oriented seminar.
All attendees must have previously completed a workshop from The Neuropsychology Center or Reitan Neuropsychology Labs and be knowledgeable about data plotting (as taught in the Administration and Interpretation seminar). By limiting enrollment to participants with this level of experience, we expect to be able to offer intensive, advanced training. There is opportunity for direct interaction between the instructors and participants.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants in this seminar can expect to describe Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological interpretation techniques and methodologies. They will learn and be able to describe the Reitan four methods of test data interpretation. They will be able to integrate and apply these fundamental HRB interpretation principles to individual clinical cases.Participants will be able to plot, organize, and analyze HRB test data into meaningful brain-related neurocognitive patterns specific to each individual patient. They will be able to explain the brain-behavior relationship for each individual HRB test performance. They will be able to compute both biologically- and clinically-sensitive summary measures and relate them to the individual case. They will be able to describe the impact of each test performance on brain-behavior function.
Participants will be able to integrate relevant clinical information such as educational, vocational, psychological, and medical history with the current neuropsychological test performances. They will be able to formulate differential neurocognitive diagnoses. They will be able to draw meaningful neuropsychological conclusions and discuss the neurobehavioral consequences of test results on the patient’s daily and occupational function.

The faculty members are experienced neuropsychologists with extensive background in the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Batteries. Both have been faculty members of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and are founders of The Neuropsychology Center. The faculty members have provided graduate level and post-doctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Refund of registration fees (minus a 10% cancellation charge) will be provided as long as your written cancellation is postmarked 3 weeks prior to the starting date of the seminar. Cancellations after that time will result in a 50% return of your fee, or the option of applying the fee to a future seminar (minus the 10% cancellation charge). If this seminar has to be canceled for any reason, all registration fees will be immediately refunded. In that case, our liability is limited to registration fees only; there will be no reimbursement for travel or hotel cancellation fees or penalties.
